Geothermal HVAC Installation & Service Technician

 

Aztech Geothermal is a leader in professionally engineered geothermal heat pump systems in Upstate New York, offering the best combination of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.  To accommodate our growth we have an opening for a full-time motivated HVAC Installation and Service Technician. 

 

Position will assist in the installation, service, maintenance needs of our ground source heat pump systems (GSHPS) and related accessories. Candidates need proven experience in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems with HVAC Tech School and/or equivalent experience.  Candidate must be able to work independently, follow work procedures, have an eye for detail with the ability to multi-task. Good customer service skills a must. Geothermal experience a plus but not required; willing to train right individual.

 

Requirements:

  • General knowledge and experience with HVAC systems
    • Furnaces, boilers,  air conditioners, air handlers,  etc.
  • Plumbing and piping, including water, and gas
  • Electrical wiring including wire gauge and panel breaker selection
  • Ability to follow wiring diagrams for control wiring of heat pumps and accessories
  • Experience installing system accessories including domestic water heaters, whole house humidification systems, heat recovery ventilators, programmable thermostats and zone control systems
  • EPA Universal CFC certification Specific with experience handling R410 A
  • Applicants should be in good physical condition due to the physical nature of installing loop piping and the installation and removal of heating and AC units. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Basic PC skills/computer knowledge

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Heat pump installation or refrigeration operation, maintenance, troubleshooting,  and repair
  • Designing ducted air distribution systems with the ability to do sheetmetal work
  • Designing, installing and maintaining radiant floor systems
  • Circulator and well pumps
